Extension of the exceptional "Solidaritéitspak 2.0" measures until 30 June 2024
Klimabonus is the subsidy programme until 2025 that aims to promote the energy-efficient renovation and sustainable construction of residential buildings, promote heating systems based on renewable energies, incentivise investment in photovoltaics and promote the purchase of electric vehicles and the installation of charging stations.
As part of the "Solidaritéitspak 2.0" to promote renewable energies and energy renovations, the government has strengthened a number of measures, such as increasing the replacement bonus to 50% when switching from a fossil heating system to a renewable alternative, increasing the Klimabonus subsidy for photovoltaic systems by a further 25% and adding 25% to the Klimabonus subsidy for insulation and ventilation measures for energy renovations.
Deadlines to be observed for the climate bonus subsidy
June 2024 marks the end of a number of deadlines that you must observe when applying for Klimabonus subsidies. Here is an overview of the deadlines you should keep an eye on.
Klimabonus subsidies for photovoltaics
In principle, the invoice date is the key factor when applying for subsidies for the installation of a solar system The invoice must date between the 01.01.2022 and 31.12.2025. In concrete terms, this means that if the date on the invoice for your installation is no later than the 31st December 2025, you can apply for the Klimabonus subsidies.
However, if you wish to benefit from the increased aid under the "Solidaritéitspak", you must submit an order dated no later than 30 June 2024.
Klimabonus subsidies for insulation and ventilation
The situation is similar for subsidies for insulation measures; however, the date of the application for the "accord de principe" (agreement in principle) applies here. Consequently, if you are planning to implement insulation measures or replace windows, you must ensure that your agreement in principle was requested before the 31st December 2025.
You can receive 25% more funding if the application for the "Accord de principe" is dated by 30.06.30 at the latest.
Klimabonus grants for heating
To qualify for Klimabonus grants for the installation of a sustainable heating system, the invoice date of your application must be between 01/01/2022 and 31/12/2025.
If you replace your fossil heating system with a renewable alternative, you will receive a bonus of 50% if you sign the offer before 30 June 2024.
Summary of exceptional Klimabonus grants
The deadlines are different for the exceptional grants you can receive:
- 25% increase in the Klimabonus subsidy (= max. 62.5% of the total investment subsidy) for the installation of a photovoltaic system, for offers signed before 30 June 2024.
- insulation measures or installation of windows, the request for the "accord de principe" must be dated by the 30 June 2024 at the latest in order to benefit from the 25% top-up.
- bonus for replacing an oil- or gas-fired boiler with a renewable alternative: 50% instead of 30% if you sign the offer before 30/06/24.
